The Team Behind Shaataauh Marbres, S.A.

Daniel Dume-Charles- Dr. Dume-Charles holds a Medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from CUNY-City College of New York. He has over ten years of management experience in private practice. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Axiom Medical PC, a practice designed specifically to address the health needs of families. In addition, Dr. Dume-Charles is an Attending Physician at Care for Homeless (CFH), a non-profit organization devoted to serving the homeless men, woman and children in shelters and drop-in clinics throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Dr. DumeCharles was among the first Haitian physicians who rushed to Haiti after the January 12, 2010 earthquake that caused the death of more than 300,000 Haitians. He is the co-founder of Shaataauh Marbres, S.A. and has dedicated his time and efforts into learning all aspects of stone extraction, transformation, distribution and sales.

Berthony Deslouches- Dr. Deslouches holds a Doctorate Degree in Microbiology and Medical Degree after completing a ten-year joint Medical Scientist Training Program offered by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry as well and attended CUNY-City College of New York where he earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Anthropology, African Studies, and Education. Currently, he serves as a Research Associate at the Center for Vaccine Research, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Deslouches attended the Faculté de Médecine de Port-au-Prince for three years prior to moving to the United States and is the co-founder of Shaataauh Marbres, S.A.

Marcel P. Denis- Marcel is a highly skilled, knowledgeable and experienced attorney with more than fifteen years of broad legal and business background in corporate, commercial, labor, construction, international and human rights law. He holds a Juris Doctor Degree from Rutgers-Newark School of Law, a Masters of Law Degree in Intercultural Human Rights from Saint Thomas University and undergraduate degrees in Unban Legal Studies, African Studies and Swahili from CUNY-City College of New York. Marcel attended the School of Visual Art where he learned to sculpt stone and has worked at a fabrication shop in Delray Beach where he learned in-shop fabrication, e.g. countertops, fireplace stalls, etc. He served as an Adjunct Professor at the American University of the Caribbean in the south of Haiti and has sound knowledge of Haitian law. Marcel’s interest in construction led him to join APAC Group, Inc. where his responsibilities, as both General Counsel and Manager of Operations, included all legal matters affecting APAC, management of day-to-day corporate housekeeping, project management, field operations, equipment and fleet management, and safety. Outstanding personal and team results were achieved under Marcel’s leadership. He finds his greatest motivation in coaching others to perform above and beyond expectations with teaching interests that include history, business law, contract law, sculpting and stone transformation. He coached and mentored a number of stone artisans in Haiti, including Kedor Tamouseul August, Jean Philippe Louissaint and Jean Maurice Neuvieme. Marcel is the co-founder of Shaataauh Marbres, S.A.

Alrick W. Thomas- Alrick holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Babson College, a Master of Science (MS) degree from Polytechnic University (NYU) and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Columbia University and has over twenty years of management, finance and engineering experience. With a strong knowledge of both cash and accrual accounting systems, Alrick has been responsible for multi-fund budgets ranging from $10 million to $100 million. He has experience in all aspects of financial forecasting, resource allocation, fund management, accounting and control. Administrative expense reductions have resulted in a 25% increase in profits, while improving overall staff morale and client confidence.
Rose Jeudy – Rose, currently the President of HS&BR, holds a Masters in Human Resources from Barry University and a Bachelor of Art in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Berkeley College. During the early stages of her career, she developed a strong capacity and a desire for human resources which incited her to pursue a Masters. Rose has over 14 years of experience in the field of human resources and has worked for numerous fortune 500 companies, holding an ever expanding range of positions within human resources. Her attributes include an expertise in personality match, key to recruitment, retention, development of sort and technical skills, development of HR manuals, policies and procedures and sound knowledge of Haiti’s labor law. Rose is affiliated with the Society for Human Resources Management.
Marcelin Denis- Beginning his work in construction project management and estimating in 2001, Marcelin currently serves as Gibraltar Construction Company Vice President. He holds a Bachelor of Art degree from Queens College. Prior to Gibraltar, he worked as Public Works Construction Inspector for Dekalb County, Georgia. He performed construction management duties, construction inspection and quality assurance on public works and development projects related to general improvements to public right-of-ways; ensure compliance with City standards, codes, designs and specifications. He also worked as a project manager for APAC Group, Inc prior to joining Dekalb County. Marcelin has successfully managed and completed residential, commercial, government, industrial, and commercial projects. He is also a co-founder of Shaataauh.
Catherine Drake- Catherine holds a Bachelor and Masters of Arts degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, New York. She currently serves as an administrator at an Intermediate Care Facility in south Florida. Ms. Drake is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the facility including staff management and facility management. She is also responsible for providing administrative leadership for the facility and coordinating operations in accordance with current existing federal, state and local standards. She has more than 22 years of professional experience with an emphasis on employee relations, personnel development, and team building. Ms. Drake joined Shaataauh Marbres, S.A. because of her desire to help make a positive impact the world coupled with having witnessed the dedicated efforts of Shaataauh members to improve the living conditions in Haiti. Ms. Drake is also a board certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.

Christine Drake- Christine holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts Degree in Music, is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, Certified Safety Care Instructor and has been in the field of Social Services since 1993, providing services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Currently, she is the Director of Behavioral Services at an Intermediate Care Facility in Miami, Florida and is responsible for behavioral oversight of the facility, program creation and implementation, staff training and crisis management. She ensures that effective ABA strategies are employed across all areas of programming and has extensive experience with program startups.

Vuliette Romelien – Vuliette has more than 15 years of marketing experience. She currently serves as the marketing and communication director for IMECO. In that capacity she has develpeded a well-rounded skill set that includes digital strategy, branding/awareness, DR/performance marketing, search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), CRM, copywriting, audience research and analysis, web analytics, media buying and planning, social marketing, and mobile marketing (SMS, WAP, iPhone/Android apps). Prior to joining IMECO, Vuliette worked with various high profile companies such as FUBU, Sasson Licensing, Minkah Entertainment, and Ife Enterprises Inc. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communication and Marketing from FIT.
Wisly Louis-Wisly holds a degree in topography and construction and has over 10 years of related field experience. As a TCINA employee, Mr. Louis has successfully completed a number of high profile projects involving roads and canals constructions. He currently serves as one of TCINA’s lead surveyor.
Yves Bernadin- Yves was trained in the late seventies by no other than the late geologist Asher Shadmon-who was single-handedly responsible for Israel’s viable stone industry. He currently works for the Bureau of Mines and Energy in Haiti and has over twenty years’ experience as a quarry manager. His responsibilities include: monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing of various samples are carried out to the highest standard; resolving technical issues on site and in shop; conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments in order to comply with all health and safety regulations; ensuring that a high quality of product is maintained; and assessing equipment and production materials levels. Yves is also a skilled artisan in stone and wood sculpting.
